Asperatus (łac. nierówny, chropowaty, szorstki) to nazwa nowego typu chmur, który na wniosek brytyjskich Łowców Chmur ma zostać wpisany do Międzynarodowego Atlasu Chmur. Wyglądają jak chmury burzowe, jednak rozpraszają się zanim pojawią się grzmoty, błyskawice i deszcz. Najczęściej występują na terenach górskich. W okresie letnich burz będą częstym zjawiskiem. Pojawienie się nowych chmur wiąże się z teorią o końcu świata mającym nastąpić w 2012 roku.
