W 2013 roku Słońce ma wybudzić się z “okresu ciszy”, w którym znajduje się obecnie. Cykl magnetyczny Słońca trwa 22 lata, natomiast nasilenie rozbłysków słonecznych następuje co 11 lat. W roku 2013 oba zjawiska mają się nałożyć.
