Pod miastem Veszprem na Węgrzech doszło do przerwania zbiornika zawierającego tak zwany czerwony szlam – silnie toksyczny odpad, który powstaje przy produkcji aluminium. Według najnowszych informacji, skażona woda dostała się już do dopływów Dunaju. Zagrożenie ogłoszono dla siedmiu powiatów.
