Księga Apokalipsy
Apokalipsa Świętego Jana to najbardziej tajemnicza księga Nowego Testamentu. Apostoł opisał w niej boską wizję zagłady świata w dniu Sądu Ostatecznego. Prorok doznał objawienia na wyspie Patmos, gdzie był karnie zesłany z Efezu. Apokalipsa powstawała przez dłuższy czas, w trzech etapach – dlatego w tekście można dopatrzeć się powtórzeń czy nieścisłości.

Ziemia zostanie nawiedzona przez kataklizmy.
I ujrzałem niebo nowe i ziemię nową, bo pierwsze niebo i pierwsza ziemia przeminęły i morza już nie ma. (Ap 21,1)
Niebo i Ziemia jakie znamy przestaną istnieć, ale mają być zastąpione nowymi. Czy chodzi o Królestwo Niebieskie?
Apokalipsa Św. Jana to bardzo głęboki temat, jej interpretacja nie jest jednoznaczna. Niektóre symbole pozostają nadal niewyjaśnione, pomimo pracy wykonanej przez wielu historyków i teologów.
